LightSheer DUET - The Gold Standard in Laser Hair Removal

The new LightSheer DUET by Lumenis is the Gold Standard in laser hair removal.

The DUET system offers several innovative improvements over previous laser hair removal systems. Vacuum assisted technology combined with a dramatic increase in the laser spot size enables a greater depth of penetration, and improved absorption of energy at the hair follicle. These improvements mean the treatment times are reduced by 75% in many cases, for instance we can treat backs and legs comfortably in about 15 minutes, without anesthetics and gels. Other areas may take even less time.

The number of treatments required depends on several factors including hair and skin type. Laser hair removal treats hair in an active growth phase. Since all hairs are not in this phase at the same time, more than one treatment may be necessary for the best results.

LightSheer DUET is a quick and pain free way to permanently remove unwanted hair from your legs, back, face, bikini, and other areas of your body where unwanted hair is a problem.

The Safety of Botox

There's been a lot in the news lately about the safety of Botox®

Much of this information revolves around December events in Florida when an unlicensed physician knowingly administered unapproved Botulinum Toxin. As a result, four patients became seriously ill. There was a similar incident earlier this year in Oregon

Early reporting suggested that Botox® had caused the illnesses. Upon further investigation, it was found that in both the Florida and Oregon incidents unapproved products containing extremely high doses of botulinum toxin were used. In the Florida case, Allergan estimates that there were 10 million units of Botulinum Toxin per vial. To compare, a vial of Allergan's Botox® contains about 100 units of medical grade material.

Illegal and unsafe drugs administered as cosmetic treatments by unlicensed, or unqualified practitioners have become more common. Some have seriously harmed patients looking for less expensive treatments (dangerous unapproved treatments may only cost $100-$200 compared to $500/treatment for Botox®), or patients who didn't check the qualifications of the doctor.

Allergan's Botox® is the only Botulinum Toxin Type A product FDA approved for medical and aesthetic uses in the U.S. Approximately 2.3 million Botox procedures were performed in 2003, making it the most popular cosmetic procedure.

At The Adams Center, our main concern is your safety and satisfaction. We use only the highest quality products, materials, and safest surgical techniques.

Why a Blog?

Many of you may wonder "Why start a Blog?"

The Internet is an amazing information source.

As the number of people who choose to improve their appearance through cosmetic procedures increases, so does the number of people who are using the Internet as a tool to look for credible information on the subject.

As a response to this, I’ve created my own Blog. This will include fairly regular updates from me on a variety of topics. Some days will be more “stream of consciousness,” while others will be Q & A style, and updates on the field of cosmetic surgery, exercise, diet, and general wellness.

We’re still working on updating the graphics and building out the content, so check back often.
